Eugénie Joneau
Eugénie Joneau studied at the Lyon Conservatory. In 2019 she joined the Opéra Studio de l’Opéra national du Rhin, where she sang the roles of the Third Nymph (»Rusalka«), Concepción (»L’Heure Espagnole«), Gertrude (»Hänsel und Gretel«), German Mother / Danish Lady / Newspaper seller (»Death in Venice«) and Kate Pinkerton (»Madama Butterfly«). The mezzo-soprano has won numerous prizes at competitions in France, Spain, Germany and beyond, e.g. at the Victoires de la Musique as »Révélation Artiste Lyrique«. She appeared as Karolka (»Jenůfa«) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, sang the part oft he Second Lady (»Die Zauberflöte«) and of Bonté (Guercœur) at the Opéra national du Rhin made her debut in the title role of »Carmen« at the Festival du Toûno in Switzerland. Shem ade her debut at La Scala in Milan as Adalgisa (»Norma«) under the baton of Riccardo Muti. In the 2024-2025 season she appeared as Suzuki (»Madama Butterfly«) at the Opéra de Marseille, Mère Marie (»Dialogues de carmélites«) at the Opéra de Rouen and sang the roles of Adalgisa and Mary (»Le Vaisseau Fantôme«) at the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse.
She has sang in numerous concerts and recitals for France Musique, including at the Festival de Cadaquès, the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier, in Verdi’s Messa di Requiem at the Opéra de Montpellier and Mozart’s Requiem at the Opéra de Toulon, as well as in concerts with the Académie du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.
