Jean-Christophe Spinosi is one of the most prolific conductors of his generation. The violinist has built a distinguished international career with a style that is equally modern and baroque. He is a regular guest at leading opera houses and prestigious festivals with his Ensemble Matheus. A highly sought-after guest conductor, Spinosi has worked with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras, the Orchestre de Paris, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, as well as major ensembles in Japan and the USA. He has conducted at major concert venues, including the Berlin Philharmonie, Carnegie Hall, Suntory Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and, of course, the major French venues. He regularly collaborates with exceptional soloists, including Cecilia Bartoli, Philippe Jaroussky, Rolando Villazón, and Jakub Józef Orliński.

His multi-award-winning discography with labels such as Naïve, Deutsche Grammophon and Decca illustrates the breadth of his artistic range. Spinosi is also renowned for his innovative projects that combine Baroque and contemporary music in unique formats. In 2024 he represented French culture at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris with his ensemble Matheus and the Académie Haendel-Hendrix, which he founded.
