La Néréide
La Néréide was created in 2019 by sopranos Camille Allérat, Julie Roset and Ana Vieira Leite. The vocal ensemble specialises in baroque music for equal voices, alongside featured instrumentalists. The trio connected as students at the Haute École de musique de Genève. Inspired by the mythical water nymphs, the »Nereids«, they chose the singular form for the name of the ensemble – as a representation of their musical unity.
Acclaimed performances with »Il Concerto Segreto« in Paris, Dijon, Avignon, Namur and at the Festival de Saint-Denis were followed by recent concerts in Tourcoing, at the Festival d’Ambronay and at the Tage Alter Musik Regensburg. The trio will also be touring with the Holland Baroque Society with a programme featuring music by Rameau, Fauré and Piaf.
In 2025, La Néréide is Artist in Residence at the Festival de Saint-Denis. Another highlight of the season is the planned recording of their new project »Le Cœur et la raison« – a showcase of motets and vocal trios by Jean-Baptiste Lully and Jean-François Lalouette, accompanied by organ, viola da gamba and archlute.
Their debut album »Luzzaschi: Il Concerto Segreto«, released by Ricercar in 2023, was described as »superb« by Gramophone and nominated for the German Record Critics’ Award. The album sheds light on the last years of the 16th century at the court of Ferrara – a centre of exceptional musical creativity, dominated by a remarkable trio of female voices. It includes works by the court music master Luzzasco Luzzaschi alongside works by Francesca Caccini, Claudio Monteverdi and Luca Marenzio. The recording recreates the original performance conditions with period instruments: harpsichord, viola da gamba, harp and lute.
