Programme:
Claudio Monteverdi: Lamento d’Arianna, Zefiro torna, Lamento della Ninfa, and other scherzi and madrigals
The Boston Early Music Festival and soprano Amanda Forsythe captivated the audience at the opening night of the 2023 Musikfest when they performed Telemann’s cantata »Ino« – the accompanying CD, which was recorded at the Sendesaal in Bremen, has just won the 2026 Grammy Award for »Best Classical Solo Vocal Album«. They now pay tribute to Monteverdi, the great pioneer of theatrical music at the turn of the Renaissance to the Baroque. His sensual, entrancing music explores the delights of love and the pain of loss, achieving an unprecedented theatrical effect through its dramatic power – simply heart-renderingly beautiful!
