Alexander Gergelyfi studied historical keyboard instruments and early music performance practice in his home town of Linz, Graz, Strasbourg and Hamburg. His passionate pursuit of his instrument and its repertoire has united the clavichord player with ensembles such as Il Gusto Barocco under the direction of Jörg Halubek, the Neue Hofkapelle Graz, the L'Orfeo Barockorchester under Michi Gaigg and Carin van Heerden, the Concentus Musicus Wien under Stefan Gottfried, the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg under Antonello Manacorda, recreationBAROCK under Jordi Savall and the Compagnia Transalpina. In 2023, he made his debut at the Salzburg Festival with baritone Georg Nigl, with whom he now performs on various historical keyboard instruments and will also be appearing at Musikfest Bremen for the first time.

Alexander Gergelyfi released his award-winning first CD recording »Morbides mit Charakter« with the ensemble Verbotene Frucht in 2018, the follow-up album »Liebe auf den ersten Schluck« was released in 2022. His first solo CD »Sapperlot!« was released by Carpe Diem Records in November 2022.

The enthusiastic educator has been teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz since 2017.
