Ever since her debut at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival under the baton of Herbert von Karajan in 1977, her unparalleled career has been unstoppable. At that time, Anne-Sophie Mutter was 13 and had already been playing the violin for eight years and would from then on perform with the most acclaimed conductors, orchestras and chamber music artists in all major music centres across the globe.

Since then, she has made numerous recordings for which she has received four Gramophone Awards, nine Echo Klassik Awards, the German Record Prize, the Record Academy Prize, the Grand Prix du Disque and the International Record Prize. In addition to the classical repertoire, she also performs contemporary music and has premiered 31 works to date, including scores by Thomas Adès, Unsuk Chin, Sebastian Currier, Henri Dutilleux, Sofia Gubaidulina, Witold Lutoslawski, Norbert Moret, Krzysztof Penderecki, Sir André Previn, Wolfgang Rihm, Jörg Widmann and John Williams.
