Their repertoire ranges from baroque to early romanticism, their instrumentation from chamber ensemble to full orchestra: founded in 2010 by horn player Christian Binde, the Compagnia di Punto specialises in historically informed performance. In addition to the established repertoire, the musicians have also devoted themselves to discovering less well-known works for flutes, horns and strings. Two CD recordings with the first ever recordings of chamber music and orchestral works by Antonio Rosetti have been hailed by the music press as landmark recordings. Performances at the Mozartfest Würzburg, Festival Mitte Europa, Fränkischer Sommer, Haydn Festival Eisenstadt, Forum Alte Musik Köln, Tage Alter Musik Herne and Brühler Schlosskonzerte as well as radio recordings by DLF and WDR have made the ensemble known to a wide audience. All of the musicians have gained an international reputation as leading members of renowned ensembles and currently work as musicians and teachers in various academies in Europe and overseas. As a Compagnia, one of their primary aims is to convey the relevance of early music for the present day. To this end, they explore the music down to its ancient roots and reflect on it in the context of contemporary compositions. Their innovative concert formats break down formal boundaries and create links to literature and dramaturgy.
