Born in Bremen, arts critic Kristina Maidt-Zinke began her career at Bremen's daily newspapers and Radio Bremen, before working for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and then becoming a permanent literary and music critic for the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Today she works as a freelance journalist, translator and presenter in Munich and Venice. She also serves on various literary prize juries. In the years 2015, 2016 and 2021, she conceived and moderated the  »Literary-Musical Cabinet« at the Musikfest Bremen with the authors Wolfgang Schlüter, Margriet de Moot and Peter Schneider and with musicians such as Ensemble de la Flamme, Il Giratempo and Philipp Mathmann or Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi.
