Programme:
»Sarahbanda – the Cuban salsa band with a difference«
Sarah Willis, who has been a horn player with the Berlin Philharmonic since 2001, found her way into Cuban music through her love of salsa, which led to an intimate dialogue with the local music scene. Together with the Havana Lyceum Orchestra, she initiated the project »Mozart y Mambo«, which became a resounding success. Sarahbanda, the resulting salsa band with a difference, merges Mozart’s dance-like lightness with the Cuban zest for life in original compositions and own arrangements – bursting with musical magic, rhythmic energy and heartfelt passion!
