Doriana Tchakarova is an internationally acclaimed pianist. The winner of numerous competitions, she was born in varna, Bulgaria, and studied at the University of Music Stuttgart. Back in Bulgaria, she won second prize at the Dimitar Nenov International Piano Competition in Rasgrad in 1993 and played Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto with the Varna Philharmonic Orchestra in the same year. Doriana Tchakarova’s international career went from strength to strength: she excelled at competitions in Italy and won first prize in the Lied Duo category at the Berlin Rising Stars Grand Prix International Music Competition together with baritone Konstantin Krimmel in 2018. As a Lied pianist and chamber musician she has performed on major concert stages in Berlin, Vienna, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hanover, Freiburg, Lugano and Bayreuth, as well as at renowned festivals such as the Heidelberger Frühling, the Oxford Lied Festival, the Dresden Music Festival, the Musikverein Wien, the Liedfestival Sindelfingen, the Mozartfest Würzburg, the Lausitz Festival and the Schubertiada Barcelona. Her CD recordings with vocal partners such as Konstantin Krimmel, Judith and Felicitas Erb, Magnus Dietrich, Eva Zalenga and Robin Neck have received high acclaim throughout Europe.

Doriana Tchakarova is a lecturer in vocal accompaniment at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. She is in high demand as a répétiteur at numerous singing masterclasses and international singing competitions.
