Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński has quickly established himself as one of the most dynamic performers on the international classical music scene and is equally successful on stage, in concert and on his recordings for the Warner/Erato label. His sold-out concerts and recitals throughout Europe and the USA are testament to this, as are his recordings, which have already won several coveted awards. Jakub Józef Orliński presented his second album »Facce d'amore«, released in 2019, on a European tour with the ensemble Il Pomo d'Oro, and he has also recorded with Joyce diDonato and Christina Pluhar's L'Arpeggiata.
While still a student at the Juilliard School in New York, the young countertenor made his debut at the Handel Festival in Karlsruhe, at Carnegie Hall and with the Houston Symphony Orchestra. Immediately after graduating, he sang the role of Orimeno in Cavalli's »Erismena« in Aix-en-Provence, followed by the title role in Handel's »Rinaldo« at the Frankfurt Opera. He has worked with Les Arts Florissants, Music of the Baroque, The English Concert, Il Giardino d'amore and Les Musiciens du Louvre, among others.
Highlights of recent seasons include his solo concert debut at Carnegie Hall, his opera debut at San Francisco Opera as Armindo in Handel's »Partenope«, his house and role debut at Zurich Opera House as Cyrus in »Belshazzar« as well as debuts with the Warsaw Philharmonic in Handel's Messiah and at the Montreal Bach Festival. He has given critically acclaimed solo recitals at Wigmore Hall, at the Verbier Festival and in Spain, Belgium, Poland, Germany and the Netherlands.
