Julia Lezhneva has won international acclaim: her voice has been described as »angelic« (The New York Times), she sings with »pure tone« (Opernwelt) and »flawless technique« (The Guardian). In 2009, at the age of 20, the graduate of the Moscow Conservatory became the youngest ever winner of the first prize in the history of the Paris Opera Competition. Just a decade later, she has a broad repertoire and works with various orchestras, conductors, operas and oratorios. She is in demand at the Salzburg Festival, the Schwetzingen Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Dubrovnik Festival, the Festival de la Vézère, the Sion Festival, the Nordland Music Festival and at Bayreuth Baroque, regularly gives recitals and has made excellent recordings with Il Giardino Armonico, Franco Fagioli, Diego Fasolis, Max Emanuel Cencic and Philippe Jaroussky, among others. Her debuts with the LA Philharmonic and Atlanta Symphony are planned for the 2024/25 season.
