This will be the second appearance of the young Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie at the Musikfest Bremen. At his debut in August 2022, he had just become Principal Guest Conductor of the orchestra, the first time this position was filled. In autumn 2023, he was awarded an Opus Klassik and at the same time signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon. Their first album will be released in May 2024, Mozart's Symphonies Nos. 35, 36 and 40. »It is a gift to perform Mozart with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and a dream to record these three symphonies«, explained the newly appointed exclusive artist on signing the contract.
Meanwhile, Tarmo Peltokoski also became Principle Guest Conductor of the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest and is music director of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse.

In April 2023, he returned to the Eurajoki Bel Canto Festival to conduct Tristan und Isolde, after conducting his first complete Wagner Ring Cycle there the previous summer, at the age of 22!
The 2023/24 season features »Don Giovanni« at the Finnish National Opera, his debut with the National Symphony Orchestra Washington, Mahler’s fourth symphony, a Prokofiev piano concert cycle with Jan Lisiecki and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Bruckner’s ninth symphony in Toulouse and Wagner’s Götterdämmerung in Riga, as well as debuts with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia at the Baden-Baden Whitsun Festival and with the Oslo Philharmonic.
Tarmo Peltokoski has worked with soloists such as Yuja Wang, Asmik Grigorian, Matthias Goerne, Julia Fischer, Golda Schultz, Martin Fröst, Janine Jansen, Leonidas Kavakos and Sol Gabetta.
He started his musical education at the age of 14, studied at the Sibelius Academy and was also taught by Hannu Lintu, Jukka-Pekka Saraste and Esa-Pekka Salonen, learning composition and arrangement as well as piano. He has won multiple competitions and has had solo performances with all the great Finnish orchestras.
