Programme:
»Science Fiction Oper«: For children aged six and over to music by Ludwig van Beethoven with two singers who also play the piano and theremin
»Great opera for little people« - this is the motto the Taschenoper Lübeck have been living by for 20 years and successfully shows how children and young people can be made enthusiastic about musical theatre in a playful way. After »Das magische Game – eine Zauberflöte« and »Hans und Greta« in the previous years, the Taschenoper Lübeck returns to the Musikfest with their new production: »Science Fiction Oper«. Two aliens land on earth in search of new sounds and melodies. They quickly see that something isn’t quite right here: is it because of the people or is something else going on? The musical basis for the ensuing fast-paced comedy of errors full of visual and acoustic bewilderment is built on works by Beethoven, such as his song cycle »An die ferne Geliebte« and the »Moonlight Sonata«. In the search for a solution to this mysterious communication chaos, a downright futuristic instrument finally comes into play. But surely the audience will help the two aliens too with such a difficult mission, right?
