Programme:
Johannes Brahms: Three Intermezzi Op. 117
Sergei Prokofiev: Piano Sonata No. 6 in A major Op. 82
Giorgi Gigashvili, born in 2000 in Tblisi, Georgia, has already won prizes at several international competitions, most recently 1st prize at the 2021 »KlavierOlymp« in Bad Kissingen and 2nd prize at the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in 2023. For his Musikfest debut, he will present works that have it all: Brahms’ Three Intermezzi are little gems of disarming, simple beauty and Prokofiev’s so-called »War Sonatas« are emotionally charged reflections of a brutal era.
