    Jan Liebermann organ

    Programme:
Johann Sebastian Bach: Passacaglia in C minor, BWV 582; An Wasserflüssen Babylon, BWV 653; Christ, unser Herr, zum Jordan kam, BWV 684
Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: Overture to the oratorio »Paulus«, Op. 36 (arr. William T. Best)
Louis Vierne: »Clair de lune« from 24 Pièces de fantaisie, Op. 53/2
Franz Liszt: Fantasy and Fugue on the Chorale »Ad nos, ad salutarem undam«, S. 259

At the age of just 20, Jan Liebermann is already considered one of the world’s most promising young organists, which is why he was awarded the Deutschlandfunk award for young musicians at the 2025 Musikfest Bremen. The jury stated that he already demonstrates remarkable maturity in his musical interpretation on the organ, the most technically demanding of all classical instruments. And as if that weren’t enough, he always plays his concerts from memory! Following performances at the Berlin Philharmonic, St. Michael’s Church in Hamburg and King’s College Cambridge, Jan Liebermann’s award concert will be on the Walcker organ in Papenburg. The largest extantWeimar Republic organ still preserved in Germany today is the perfect instrument to bring works by Bach, Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Louis Vierne and Franz Liszt to life, interpreted with both sophistication and technical brilliance!
