Khatia Buniatishvili has announced the programme for her piano recital

Georgian-French pianist Khatia Buniatishvili has announced the programme for her piano recital on Sunday, 17 August at 7:30 pm in the Glocke:

Franz Schubert: 4 Impromptus op. 90 D 899
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sonata No. 16 in C major »Sonata facile« K 545
Frédéric Chopin: Sonata No. 2 in B flat minor op. 35, Ballade No. 4 in F minor op. 52
Franz Liszt: Mephisto Waltz No. 1 »The Dance in the Village Tavern« S 514

Mozart's popular Piano Sonata No. 16 in C major is by no means as »easy« to play as suggested by its nickname, which was not coined by the composer himself. The four Impromptus D 899 are among Schubert's best-known piano works and depict his inner turmoil, bursting with early romantic sentiment. The Sonata No. 2 in B flat minor and the Ballade No. 4 in F minor are undoubtedly among the highlights of Chopin's rich oeuvre. And the diabolical character of the eponymous hero of Lizst's Mephisto Waltz No. 1 is brilliantly expressed in the piano version, transcribed by the composer himself. Tickets for the piano recital can be purchased here.
