Born in Paris in 1973, Jérémie Rhorer is one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. He studied harpsichord, music theory and composition at the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris and was assistant to Marc Minkowski and William Christie. In 2005 he co-founded Le Cercle de l’Harmonie, who specialise in playing the repertoire of the 18th and 19th centuries on period instruments in the original pitch. The winner of the 2017 Musikfest prize has gained widespread international acclaim, particularly with Mozart operas at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and the Opéra Comique Paris, as well as at the festivals in Aix-en-Provence and Beaune. Rhorer has also conducted leading orchestras, including the Montréal Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Orchestre de Paris and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. A sought-after opera conductor, he has made guest appearances at the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Brussels opera house La Monnaie and the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, among others. After the success of »La traviata« and »Rigoletto« in previous years, Jérémie Rhorer conducted »Il trovatore«, the third opera in Giuseppe Verdi’s legendary »trilogia popolare«, at the 2023 Musikfest Bremen.
