Programme:
Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 6 in F major op. 68 »Pastoral«
Jérémie Rhorer and Le Cercle de l’Harmonie have already provided the Musikfest with countless highlights. The French conductor elicits such refreshing, finely balanced and technically masterful playing from his period instrument ensemble, that unexpected nuances in the scores are revealed each time. With the most idyllic of his symphonies, the »Pastoral«, Beethoven created a musical monument to nature and country life. With Rhorer and his orchestra, thanks to their sophisticated treatment of the individual instrument sections and their richly coloured timbre, it becomes a powerful embodiment of humanised nature.
