Tickets for the 36th Musikfest Bremen Have Gone on Sale!

Ticket sales for the 36th Musikfest Bremen have started with our press conference today.

From 16 August to 6 September, famous stars and talented young musicians will make live concerts an unforgettable experience at more than 50 events in Bremen, Bremerhaven and a selection of venues across north-west Germany.

The festivities kick off in style with the traditional opening night „Eine große Nachtmusik“ around Bremen’s market square. 18 concerts in three time slots at nine venues offer audiences a wide range of repertoire and artists, such as Marc Minkowski & Les Musiciens du Louvre, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, the Cappella Mariana, the Alfredo Rodriguez Quintet and Ida Nielsen & The Funkbots.

Before it all begins, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra will give a special concert, with Lang Lang as soloist. The conductor: Daniel Barenboim. The world famous orchestral conductors invited by the festival for the following three weeks are in the same league: From Nicholas Collon (with the Aurora Orchestra) and Robin Ticciati (with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe) and Maxim Emelyanychev (with Il Pomo d’Oro and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra) through to Tarmo Peltokoski. Together with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen he has assembled a brilliant young cast led by Elsa Dreisig, Mauro Peter and Kathryn Lewek for their production of Mozart’s „Magic Flute“. The list of celebrated singers goes on and on: Pene Pati brings Neapolitan canzoni, Golda Schultz introduces herself with songs by Weill, Bernstein, Gershwin & Co and Camilla Nylund sings the final arias of of Brünnhilde and Salome. The line-up of stellar pianists is equally impressive, ranging from Khatia Buniatishvili and Lucas Debargue to Alexander Melnikov and Lukas Sternath through to Francesco Tristano. Young female instrumentalists are represented by the violinists Eldbjørg Hemsing and Alena Baeva as well as cellist Anastasia Kobekina. There is also alluring music off the beaten classical track with Dhafer Youssef, Kandace Springs, Richard Galliano and Somi, before MEUTE does the honours for the grand open-air finale on the market square.

In addition to the Arp Schnitger Festival in the organ paradise surrounding Bremen, the Musikfest will make guest appearances across north-west Germany, with concerts in places such as Barßel, Cuxhaven, Jever, Lilienthal, Meppen, Oldenburg, Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Papenburg, Verden and Worpswede.
