»Poseidon und die Plastiksee« – a musical environmental fairytale for children ages 10 and up: opera collage for 4 singers, piano and percussion with music by George Frideric Handel via Giuseppe Verdi, Richard Wagner, Gabriel Fauré and Charles Trenet about water and the sea
The beloved king Poseidon rules the waves and has two daughters: Anemone and Coralia. But one day, Coralia falls gravely ill and the court physicians are at a loss. The king is very worried and announces that whoever finds a cure for his daughter Coralia will be given her hand in marriage. Prince Coca Coola doesn’t think twice – he has been in love with Coralia for years after all. Together with the curious Anemone and the court’s genie in a bottle, he immediately sets off on his quest. Along the way, they meet many interesting sea creatures and have exciting adventures, but will they also manage to find the cure? This musical environmental fairy tale for young and old by the ensemble Pariser Flair uses original recycled instruments and costumes made out of rubbish and plastic to tackle the highly topical issue of plastic pollution in the seas in a fantastical and original fairy tale opera collage.
