Programme:
Georges Bizet: Arias and duets from »Carmen«, »Les pêcheurs de perles« and »Djamileh« as well as excerpts from the suites »L’Arlésienne« und »Jeux d’enfants«

Les Musiciens du Louvre made their debut at the Musikfest Bremen in 1995, and in 2005, Marc Minkowski was honoured with the Musikfest Prize. For 30 years now, the French period instrument orchestra and its conductor have repeatedly raised the bar, particularly with their performances of works by Jacques Offenbach and George Bizet. Bizet, a master of orchestral music, had a weakness for southern sounds. Whether Andalusia, Provence, Egypt or Ceylon, his sophisticated and brilliantly imaginative exotic melodies will pull you in!

Around the market square, nine venues each host two 45-minute concerts in three time slots. All venues have two shared intervals for spontaneous encounters and stimulating exchanges. Individual tickets can be booked for each event at a standard price of 33 euros, so you can choose for yourself whether you would like to attend one, two or three concerts to start off the festival!
