Georgian-French pianist Khatia Buniatishvili is one of the great pianists of our time. A familiar face at the world’s top venues and festivals with hundreds of thousands of social media followers, she recently performed at the reopening of Notre-Dame in Paris. She plays the piano, she says, as if she were playing for the very last time of her life – sheer intensity in other words. With her great role model Martha Argerich, she shares a desire to push herself to extremes. Whether high virtuosity or romantic dreaminess, Khatia Buniatishvili finds an original approach to each repertoire.
